Sugar Rush: Black Sesame Paste with Red Bean Tang Yuan at Yat Yat Sweet
Note: this venue is now closed.
If you're like me and will eat pretty much anything flavored with black sesame, then the hot black sesame paste ($3) from Yat Yat Sweet is for you. It's not a paste so much as a thick soup/liquidy pudding that coats your tongue with sweet black sesame.
The small tub-sized portion is incredibly filling on its own, but I made it more so by adding Yat Yat's homemade red bean paste-filled tang yuan for another 75¢.
They're soft, mildly chewy glutinous rice balls filled with sweet mashed red beans break the monotony (the tasty monotony, but still) of black sesame goo.
