'Herb Festival' at Gallow Green

The bar on top of the "McKittrick Hotel," the massive performance complex that houses Sleep No More, is reopening for the season. (Check out our writeup here.) They're kicking off the season with their "Herb Festival," a celebration of spring; basically, a rooftop party with food, drinks, and live music. Three seatings over 2 days. Indonesian Food Bazaar

The Indonesian Food Bazaar is returning to the Masjid Al-Hikmah Mosque in Queens this Sunday. The all-day event, which recurs infrequently through the season, features food from what is, sadly, a cuisine without much representation in the city. Sweet Sensations Benefit for C-CAP

For the first time, local bakers and food bloggers are gathering to raise funds for at-risk students in the Careers through Culinary Arts Program. C-CAP is a national non-profit based in NYC that provides education, scholarships, and career opportunities to at-risk students. The event is being held at The Old Bowery Station, with Colicchio & Sons pastry chef Stephen Collucci joining master chocolatier Medhi Chellaoui for a pastry demonstration. Earth Day Dinner at Del Posto

Annie Novak, of Eagle Street Rooftop Farm in Greenpoint, and Amy Thompson, of Lucy's Whey, are hosting a five-course vegetarian dinner at Del Posto. The meal will be comprised exclusively of local and seasonal ingredients and each course will be paired with a different beer from Brooklyn Brewery. Spring Lamb Dinner at Craft

Maria Sinskey, who runs the kitchen at Robert Sinskey Vineyards in Napa, and Craft Wine Director Greg Majors are hosting a four-course dinner in Craft's private dining room. Annual Wellness in the Schools (WITS) Benefit

WITS promotes healthy eating, environmental awareness, and fitness as a way of life for kids in New York City public schools. A Taste of Red Rooster

Leake & Watts, a non-profit human services agency, is hosting a spring benefit at Harlem's Red Rooster. Guests will sample some of chef Marcus Samuelsson's dishes and have a chance to learn about Harlem's history from renowned urban historian Dr. Kenneth T. Jackson. First Annual NYC Hot Sauce Expo
Saturday April 20th and Sunday April 21st, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
New York City's first hot sauce expo is a two-day festival taking place this weekend at the East River State Park in Williamsburg. Both days feature over 2,000 hot sauces from around the world, live music, eating challenges, bloody mary contests, fire breathers, and spicy food vendors.
