Bosie Tea Parlor is no stranger to intensely flavored sweets (ahem), but if you want something that'll actually pair well with their tea, go for the Tea Time ($6), a crumbly scone tart with a thin layer of raspberry jam and a generous cloud of whipped cream on top. It's light and only moderately sweet, an exercise in restraint through cream on top of butter.
The servers at Bosie let the tart sit out a few minutes after removal from the chilled pastry case. Let them. The cream needs time to soften.
Pair this tart with one of Bosie's dark oolongs or a classic black tea like Earl Grey. All that cream enriches the tea's sweetness without bowling over its flavor.
