As overpriced as fresh fruit cups can be (this falls in the same category as smoothies and pressed juice blends), a good one cannot be beat. Num Pang does a tropical version that has everything from coconut meat to ripe mangoes, lychee, and papayas. It's tossed in a sweet lemongrass bath and I always order two servings on every visit. Eataly does a simple grapefruit salad with tons of chopped mint (find it in the refrigerated section by the yogurt).
At The Smile To Go, the fruit cups ($7) change with the season, but you can always count on them being fresh and generously portioned. On a recent visit we found supremed oranges (and blood oranges too!) alongside grapefruit, pomegranate and sliced bananas. It's topped with a flurry of mint and makes for an excellent start to the day.
Just don't forget about the gooey chocolate chip cookies for later.
