Sugar Rush: Shortbreads by Armani / Dolci
Armani introduced a line of sweets in 2009, but it wasn't until recently when I walked into the midtown flagship did I spot that wall lined in confections, teas, pralines, and even spiced chocolate and hazelnut spreads. Everything is baked/made and packaged in Italy, including these buttery shortbread cookies. 64 cookies come to a tin (split it with a friend), in four flavors. My favorite is the classic chocolate, crumbly and cocoa-rich, followed by the brighter lemon and an orange zest shortbread. For bolder flavors, pick the coffee, complete with finely ground beans. They're just the right size, two bites each, and so appropriate to accompany an afternoon tea or coffee.
