A Sandwich a Day: Pork Chop at Bobwhite Lunch & Supper Counter
In this great city of ours, one could eat a different sandwich every day of the year—so that's what we'll do. Here's A Sandwich a Day, our daily look at sandwiches around New York. Got a sandwich we should check out? Let us know. —The Mgmt.

Majestically moist, well-salted fried chicken is the thing at Bobwhite Lunch & Supper Counter, but I'd happily tuck into this pork chop sandwich ($9.50) again. The juicy grilled pork chop is on the compact side, but it receives some heft from a sweet squashy bun and a sweet-tart jolt from chow chow, a chutney-relish spiked with turmeric and brine. But none of this distracts from the pork itself: the kind of moist, mighty pork loin that you wish were more common in diners everywhere.
