In this great city of ours, one could eat a different sandwich every day of the year—so that's what we'll do. Here's A Sandwich a Day, our daily look at sandwiches around New York. Got a sandwich we should check out? Let us know. —The Mgmt.

You are looking at half of the Breakfast Sandwich ($7) at Il Buco Alimentari & Vineria, and trust us, this half is enough to be breakfast on its own. It's a near-perfect breakfast, with crisp-edged and poofy-centered filone housing two meaty slices of Il Buco's salame rosa, nutty Rupert cheese, and a baked egg. It even holds up well for takeout orders. Our one complaint: that baked egg is cooked until the yolk is set; a more runny one would lend the moisture necessary to bring sausage, cheese, and bread together as one.
