Sugar Rush: Maui Preserved at One Lucky Duck

As a native of Honolulu, I'm always on the lookout for made-in-Hawai'i products that, by some magical feat, make it all the way to the retail shelves of NYC. So cheers to Maui Preserved and their vanilla powder which is now stocked at One Lucky Duck. The ingredients are simple: 100% pure vanilla beans ground into a fine, fragrant powder. Careful when you open the jar, as that vanilla scent is heady. You can use it in any recipe that calls for vanilla—I like adding a teaspoon to homemade whipped cream and milkshakes.
