Sugar Rush: Gingerbread Cookies from Tate's Bake Shop

I love the crisp chocolate chip cookies (and the ones with no chips!) from Tate's Bake Shop, but come holiday season I trade in their chocolate cookies for their gingerbread sisters. As far as texture goes, they are the complete opposite from the usual Tate's cookie. Soft and chewy from edge to center, these are rich with molasses and oh-so buttery. Spices run gentle with hints of cloves, ginger, and allspice, and it's practically impossible to stop at just one cookie.

And if you're still craving pumpkin sweets, keep an eye out for Tate's Pumpkin Tea Loaf. Dense, with a soft, moist crumb, there's chopped walnuts aplenty in every bite. And it only gets better when toasted and topped with a big fat scoop of vanilla ice cream. You can find their products all over the city, but Butterfield Market on the Upper East Side has the largest selection (cookies, pies, loafs, and cakes) of Tate's.
