Sugar Rush: Chocolate-Chai Cake at Liquiteria

Sugar Rush

Your daily dose of something sweet.

Despite all the new fresh-pressed, organic juice spots that have opened up in the past few years, Liquiteria in the East Village remains my favorite to this day. Juices and smoothies are the highlight, but there's also much more to discover. I'm currently hooked on this Chocolate-Chai Cake offered at $4.50 a slice. It's vegan with a wheat flour base and plenty of chocolate chips for your sweet tooth. The chai element comes in unexpectedly strong, even with the chocolate, and you can easily make out flavors of cardamom, ginger, and cloves. Couple with one of their hot drinks and you're all set for a Fall breakfast.
