We found not ten but eleven ice cream stands at yesterday's 3rd Annual Ice Cream Sunday at New Amsterdam Market. $30 bought ten miniature cones, perfectly sized so that it was indeed possible to devour them all with no regrets. The range of vendors were diverse, from Princeton's beloved Bent Spoon to La Newyorkina (where we happily devoured mole ice cream!), Rouge Tomate up on 60th Street, and Il Buco Alimentari down on Great Jones.
The flavors were equally diverse with a heavy focus on seasonal fruits. Think tomato ice cream, plum sorbet, a number of goat's milk-based flavors, and variations on salted caramel, cantaloupe, lime, and strawberries. Click on through to check out all the 2012 offerings. We'll be back next year.
