TGI Fry-Day: Sticky's Finger Joint's Classic Chicken Fingers
Since spring, Sticky's Finger Joint has been serving a creative menu centered around chicken that is "antibiotic-free, hormone-free, cruelty-free, [and] free range." The fingers are available in three- and five-piece options, with flavors ranging from classic to wasabi to salted caramel, as well as a garlicky grilled option called the Naked Vampire Killer.
We put their classic fried fingers with their house BBQ sauce ($11.98, taxes included) to the test. These are some juicy chunks of bird, intensely seasoned with a crunchy crust. The sauce, an Alabama-style white mayo dip flavored with hickory, mesquite, maple syrup, and cayenne add tang and richness, perhaps the reason that an order of five felt so filling. If you're ordering a side, just three pieces will do.
While you can find some seating—low benches and high stands—Sticky's is a little lacking in ambiance. Take your order to go—ours came in under five minutes—and walk to nearby Washington Square Park for an instant picnic.
