Sugar Rush: Cinnamon Rice Pudding at Aldea

Sugar Rush

Your daily dose of something sweet.

I keep a running list of great rice puddings around town, and this version currently served at Aldea ($10) is high on it. Their creamy cinnamon-accented pudding is served cool, with the rice slightly past al dente and a sweetness that hints of brown sugar. It comes with roasted stone fruit (apricots on my most recent visit), and a quenelle of housemade apricot sorbet to match.

If you have room for two desserts (who doesn't, right?), make the second an order of their signature Sonhos. It translates directly to "little dreams," and that's exactly how you'd describe these puffy two-bite doughnuts.
