Sugar Rush: Antidote Chocolate

Long Island City-based Antidote Chocolate makes ten different chocolate bars, each one combining two key flavors and named after a Greek goddess. My two current favorites are Hybris, an 84% dark bar in which the underbelly is flecked with dried mango and juniper berries. It's a touch smoky, with a faint, fruity lift; I like break it into tiny pieces and mix it into vanilla ice cream. Kakia is a sweeter 77% bar infused with cardamom and crushed coffee beans. The flavors come through heady, bold with coffee on the initial bite, and cardamom on the finish. Certainly not for a dark chocolate purist, but oh so good for an afternoon pick-me-up.
