A Taste of the New Food at the US Open

"Global flavors and local ingredients."

That's the theme of this year's food offered at Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Following in the footsteps of Yankee Stadium and Citi Field's new high-end culinary options, this year's US Open is selling dishes by celebrity chefs, sushi, and other items beyond the typical hot dogs.

I got a chance to meet the chefs last week for a preview of the menu, for which "40% of all produce is sourced from local and regional farms." The Open's food comes by way of four restaurants, a wine bar, and more casual "food village." Take a look at the slideshow for dishes from David Burke, Tony Mantuano, and Masaharu Morimoto, and more.
