In case you haven't noticed, it's a little hot outside. In recognition of summer's sweaty grip on our lives for the next two months, and the warm weather excuse of eating frozen desserts for dinner, we're going to be celebrating ice cream all through July on Serious Eats: New York. (Our friends on Sweets National and Chicago will be doing the same.)

What can you expect this month? Guides on finding the best gelato, soft serve, frozen yogurt, and more. Conversations with some of the city's ice cream luminaries. A behind the scenes looks at how top notch ice cream gets made, and herculean take downs of entire scoop shop menus. And to ensure you won't go a day without cold, creamy bliss, we'll be profiling a Daily Scoop all month long from scoop shops and restaurants we love.
