These days, there are any number of venues to see New York's small artisan purveyors: Smorgasburg, Hester Street Fair, maybe DeKalb or New Amsterdam Market. (Not to mention small retail shops like Bklyn Larder or Nolita Mart.)
But Super (Duper) Market, put together by Paper magazine (with American Express Blue Cash Preferred and Target), not only has an excellent selection of NYC vendors, but a handful of great West Coast folk, as well: San Francisco's Humphry Slocombe will be selling his Secret Breakfast and Vietnamese coffee ice creams; Boulette's Larder, their signature spice blends (either packaged for cooking, or over popcorn for sampling); Miette and Tartine are both selling baked goods.
Check out the slideshow for a look at the vendors, people, and products. The market will be open today, Friday, July 13th, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.; Saturday, July 14th, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, July 15th, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.. Both cash and credit cards are accepted. Admission is free; individual item prices vary (though most are quite reasonable.) It's a great lineup, but a small space—so we'd recommend you get there early.
