Stop by Dominique Ansel Bakery before Wednesday and find this holiday take on the Religieuse. It's called the Uncle Sam ($6), a two-tiered cream puff outfitted in a star-studded top hat of vanilla marshmallows. The cream puffs are filled with a voluptuous milk chocolate custard and polished with a blue suit and matching bow-tie—buttons included! If you want a double dose, look for the Star Spangled Banner Èclair ($5.75) which is filled with sablé cookie crumbles and caramelized apple compote. Think apple pie in the form of an éclair.
