The 2012 Big Apple Barbecue Block Party is almost here, and we're counting down the days until Madison Square Park gets bathed in smoke for a weekend of barbecue glory. Pitmasters from all over the country will be coming in to smoke pork, beef, and sheep for a crowd of hungry devotees. You can check out our coverage of last year's party here.

We're giving away one fast pass ticket that lets you jump the lines to sample $52 worth of barbecue (each plate costs $8). And not only that, you and a friend will get a tour of the party by our own Ed Levine, who will take you straight to the best 'cue and get you chatting with the pitmasters.

To enter, tell us how you first fell in love with barbecue in the comments below—you have until Monday, June 4th at noon before we close the contest. The standard Serious Eats contest rules apply.
