In this great city of ours, one could eat a different sandwich every day of the year—so that's what we'll do. Here's A Sandwich a Day, our daily look at sandwiches around New York. Got a sandwich we should check out? Let us know. —The Mgmt.
The Turkey Sandwich ($9) at Ted & Honey may not reach the heights of poultry greatness, but it's a solid union of mild smoky turkey, sharp dijon mustard, and plump, tender apple butter. The mustard brings out, rather than covers up, the turkey's sublte gaminess, and the surprisingly lovely apple butter adds some sweet to the pungency. Havarti and arugula come along for the ride, but they're kind of incidental: a little green, a little creaminess, but not much impact. That's okay; turkey, mustard, and apple is enough to satisfy.
