It's difficult (if not impossible!) to pick only one paleta flavor at La Newyorkina...but now...problem solved! Meet the Rainbow Paleta ($4.50 at the Big Gay Ice Cream Shop), where not one but four flavors comes layered into a single popsicle. The flavors change often, making a solid case for visiting as frequently as possible. Today we devoured a shiny compilation of summer berries (at the top) layered with pineapple, coconut, and green apple at the very bottom. As always, the layers are true to flavor and never too sweet. I'm crossing my fingers that passion fruit shows up in the next quartet of flavors.
