So long as summer weather permits, find je & jo's ice cream cart parked on the north side of Bleecker Street Playground. Popular for coupling egg-free cookie dough with housemade ice cream, the pre-packed cups ($4, complete with wooden spoons) come in a variety of flavor combinations. Expect to find four to five rotating flavors on any given day. On a previous weekend we quickly wolfed down a fresh strawberry ice cream with honey and thyme shortbread cookie dough. The Nutella is an easy crowd pleaser, but the one I come back for time after time? A classic Earl Grey ice cream with shortbread dough tucked in the center. The buttery, sugar-laced bits of cookie dough complement rather than compete with the subtle and fruity bergamot flavors of earl grey.
