If I had it my way, dinner every single night of the week would end with one of Meredith Kurtzman's dreamy gelato concoctions. But until then I just get myself to Otto as often as possible. Currently on the dessert rotation is Otto's Banana Tartufo ($11). Crumbled dark chocolate brownies line the base of the dish, which is filled with one gigantic scoop of banana gelato—silky, dense, and true to flavor. The gelato is coated with a bare layer of caramelized white chocolate. Crack it à la crème brûlée (or Magic Shell—remember that?) and dig in. Make sure to catch a bit of the spiced toasted peanuts in each spoonful.
