An assortment of artisan candy bars by H.S. Chocolate Co. can be found at Haven's Kitchen in Chelsea. Look for the well of beautifully wrapped bars near the cash register, $7.25 apiece. Death by Chocolate Malt (pictured above) is my favorite, and perhaps the most unique creation of the bunch. It comes in three layers: first, crumbly chocolate shortbread base, then housemade chocolate malt nougat, and finally, a layer of chocolate malt ganache. The nougat is of the chewy sort, the malt coming across in equal intensity to the chocolate. The entire (very, very heavy) bar is enrobed in silky, tempered dark chocolate. If you've got room for more, try the Peanut Butter Trance. Polished in a dusting of sea salt, it's a sweet and salty confection that marries peanut butter nougat to peanut-studded salted caramel.
