The New Amsterdam Market, the open air market near South Street Seaport, returned this Sunday for the 2012 season. And what better way to open the new season than with a bread pavilion? More than a dozen local bakers brought their best creations for people to sample and to take home.
Besides the bread pavilion, many long time New Amsterdam Market vendors came back along with few new ones. You can grab a lobster roll from Luke's Lobster, then wash it down with a soda from P&H Soda Co., snack on jerky from Kings County Jerky, pick up a couple pies from Pie Corps, buy beans from the Brooklyn Bean Co., fresh produce from Queens County Farm, and maybe couple pieces of caramel from Liddabit Sweets for the road.
Check out the slideshow of the New Amsterdam Market and the bread pavilion.
