Breakfast is served everyday till 4pm at Jack's Wife Freda. This means many things, but most important is the fact that you can have rosewater waffles ($8) for breakfast, lunch, or an afternoon snack any day of the week. The yeasty waffle batter is faintly scented with rosewater and the resulting flavor is delicate, just a suggestion of sweet, floral notes. Strawberries and a scoop of tangy Lebanese yogurt come in place of butter. There's a little cup of thin honey-maple syrup that you must take advantage of; pour liberally over the crunchy waffle. Pair with an order of pureed fresh cantaloupe juice or a friendly mint lemonade. There's coffee as well, but that seems so boring in comparison.
