A Sandwich A Day: Chicken Tender Sandwich at Radish

A Sandwich a Day

A new sandwich every day.

In this great city of ours, one could eat a different sandwich every day of the year—so that's what we'll do. Here's A Sandwich a Day, our daily look at sandwiches around New York. Got a sandwich we should check out? Let us know. —The Mgmt.

A chicken tender sandwich ($8) isn't exactly what I expected to find when walking into Williamsburg's Radish, a land of vegetable salads and such. But it's quite a good sandwich (and made with organic chicken, helping it fit in a little more with its surroundings). The long, slim tenders are nicely crisped and pretty substantial, their insides tasting like good white meat chicken rather than reconstituted chicken sponge. It pairs well with sharp, peppery horseradish and arugula, and its slim roll is easy to bite through, letting chicken and fixin's take center stage. It's certainly the healthiest chicken tender sandwich we've ever eaten. Not that there's much of a contest.
