In celebration of the holidays, and of the potato pancakes traditionally cooked on Hanukkah, New York chefs will compete at Brooklyn Academy of Music, showing off their basic and contemporary latke recipes. The roster of over 15 chefs will include Bill Telepan, Julian Medina, Ron Ben-Israel, and Saul Bolton. (There's also one person cooking who won an Edible Brooklyn contest to compete.)

An expert panel of judges, including various New York Times contributors, Mitchell Davis, VP of the James Beard Foundation, Marty Markowitz, Brooklyn Borough President, and Rachel Wharton, Deputy Editor of Edible Brooklyn, will decide the best latkes. And of course, guests will sample each chef's crispy creation, and vote for a people's choice winner!

Tickets are $30 (available here) but you can win a pair on Serious Eats.

To win, just answer the following question in the comments below:
Where have you eaten the best latke?

Contest will end and comments will close at noon ET, Wednesday, December 7, 2011. One entry per community member. The standard Serious Eats contest rules apply.
