Sugar Rush: Ice Cream Trio at EN Japanese Brasserie

Finish any meal at EN Japanese Brasserie with a trio of ice creams and sorbets, all housemade. The flavors change frequently, but you can rely on the classics they do best. There's a Black Sesame where the ice cream, a charcoal-grey shade, is speckled with whole toasted seeds. The seeds serve not only as textural contrast but also to intensify the ice cream base which is made with a high proportion of black sesame paste.

Don't forget Matcha ice cream, either, perfectly smooth and dense, barely sweetened and almost bordering on bitter. Cream rounds out the matcha, making for one truly sophisticated scoop. EN Japanese Brasserie also rotates from a selection of tea-infused ice creams. Earl Grey (pictured at top center) is my favorite, fragrant with bergamot and lighter citrus notes.
