Blue Bottle Coffee may be a destination for coffee fiends, but it's also a great place for those with a sweet tooth on the lookout for dessert. For the summer, consider their affogato ($5.50), less for the espresso and more for the two chubby scoops of chocolate-stout ice cream. It's housemade and runs on the dense side, creamy and equally boozy and rich in chocolate. While you're there, pick up a Semolina Buckle ($3.50) for breakfast the next day. They change up the buckle cake with the season, and are currently serving ones with Riesling-poached pears and a fragrant almond and lavender streusel. Borderline savory and hinting of olive oil, the perfect breakfast pastry for those who can't decide between sweet and savory.
