There's only one dessert item on the menu at Sheep Station in Park Slope. It's Sticky Toffee Pudding ($6), and one you shouldn't miss. A generously cut square of the pudding-cake is served warm and drenched in a silky, easy flowing toffee sauce.

It's indulgent, decidedly sweet, robust and one that requires sharing with a friend, lest you don't mind the risk of a root canal. The crumb is light and consistent, the tiny bits of dates ensuring that it remains moist throughout. Alternate spoonful with the vanilla ice cream, or even better, let the ice cream melt into the cake making for some otherworldly satisfaction.
