Mymouné is a Lebanese family-run business that produces wonderful fruit and flower jams, relishes, and syrups. My favorite of their products are the waters offered in Rose and Orange Blossom from distilled petals. They are both impossibly fragrant without coming across as overwhelming. A splash in summer iced tea, an extra drop in that batch of madeleines or butter pound cake. Don't forget about rice pudding. The million possible uses also extend to the non-food related realm. (A spritz on you neck for sweltering hot days?) Mymouné also makes a rose syrup, kissed with a bit of fresh lemon juice, but I find the water much more versatile for everyday use. Sold throughout NYC for about $7-9, at shops including Kalustyan's and Sahadi Importing Co.
