Lady M makes one of my favorite mille-feuilles in town; I love the Strawberry Mille-Feuille, but I'm equally fond of the banana version pictured at top. Each wedge is as elegant as the cake boutique itself, coupling fresh banana slices with soft whipped cream and vanilla custard, barely sweetened and more luxurious than anything else. Sink your fork right in, though the "thousand layers" of flaky, buttery housemade puff pastry, golden with a sugar-dusted top. (And don't forget to pick up a Mont Blanc or a chiffon-light Matcha Cake for later enjoyment.)
