Sugar Rush: Passionfruit Pavlova at Elsewhere

At Elsewhere, the Passionfruit Pavlova ($6) is served only during lunch and weekend brunch. It features a duo of cheerful meringue boats filled with a tart, creamy passionfruit curd and rounds of a housemade coconut ice cream. Highly summer-appropriate. Break though the light, crispy shell and pull out equal portions of passionfruit and the toasted, simply smooth coconut ice cream. The deep green dots off to either end are a basil puree—pure and intense, the ideal pinch of savory to this dessert.

Here at Elsewhere for dinner? The satisfyingly eggy, whipped cream- and apple compote-topped Dutch Baby is not to be missed. In fact, it could be a meal in itself. And if you're a fan of icebox cakes, look no further than the layered and boozy Chocolate Bourbon Icebox Cake.
