We've told you about how we love the pepito torta at La Esquina, so it will come as no surprise that we were pretty happy with the pollo rostizado torta, too. It juxtaposes flavors and textures perfectly, contrasting the tart acidity of the citrus-rubbed rotisserie chicken with the punchy spice of the chipotle mayo slathered generously on the crusty baguette. The chicken is quite tender; the arugula, shaved red onion, and tomato provide a welcome freshness and crunch, while the avocado lends a buttery note. At just $10, this sandwich is simultaneously filling and fresh—a great summer lunch.
