A Sandwich A Day: Panino di Colazione at Grandaisy

A Sandwich a Day

A new sandwich every day.

In this great city of ours, one could eat a different sandwich every day of the year—so that's what we'll do. Here's A Sandwich a Day, our daily look at sandwiches around New York. Got a sandwich we should check out? Let us know. —The Mgmt.

There are breakfast sandwiches out there for less than $5, but a lot of them aren't as large or as tasty as Grandaisy's Panino Di Colazione ($5). It's not a runny, gooey egg sandwich, but rather a moist frittata of onions and eggs with thin, tender asparagus stalks and thin slices of Asiago cheese. It's a little bready, but it's also the rare breakfast sandwich that tastes as good two hours later as it does straight out of the case—a rare commuter-friendly egg sandwich to remember.
