Sugar Rush

Your daily dose of something sweet.

As we get into warmer months, I've got fruity flavors on the mind, particularly passion fruit. You'll find an excellent passion fruit sorbet from L'arte del Gelato, passion fruit truffles from Kee's Chocolates, but as for passion fruit cake? Head to Balthazar Bakery—where a dense, but plenty moist vanilla cake is layered with an utterly smooth and sufficiently tart passion fruit curd. Backed by thin panels of housemade lady fingers and a top of gently sweetened cream, there are mango slices and blueberries to complete the picture of approaching summer.
