A Sandwich a Day: Croque Monsieur at Cannelle Patisserie
In this great city of ours, one could eat a different sandwich every day of the year—so that's what we'll do. Here's A Sandwich a Day, our daily look at sandwiches around New York. Got a sandwich we should check out? Let us know. —The Mgmt.

Cannelle's croque monsieur is nothing to travel out to a strip mall in Queens for (even though their pastries are!), but it's a good cheap lunch if you're there; you taste the ham and the bechamel most of all, creamy and nutmeggy, soaking into the bread. While I wouldn't've minded it heated a little more, and a little cheesier on top, for $3.50 I have no complaints.
