Grand Central is a treasure trove for little sweets, and I often find myself going out of the way to the train station so that I can stock up on various goodies. One stop and I'll pick up Robicelli's Cupcakes from Joe's, yogurts from Murray's Cheese, chocolate financiers at Financier, and a cup of banana pudding from Murray's. And don't forget honey at the Tea & Honey store!

Now we can add to the list gelato crepes at Ciao Bella in the basement dining concourse. The crepes are best ordered early in the day—they make a batch fresh each morning and if you come late you'll be punished with a gummy reheated crepe. The Dulce de Leche Crepe ($6.75) features smoky sweet caramel brushed over the crepe, which is then folded into quarters and finished with an extra drizzle of caramel and dusting of cinnamon and powdered sugar. It comes with Ciao Bella's vanilla gelato, but I prefer substituting it with their matcha gelato; the slight bitterness from matcha tempers the sweet caramel, a lovely pairing my books.
