These Honey Cakes from San Francisco-based Kika's Treats remind me a lot of Honey Cakes by Bee Desserts in the West Village. They both find roots in pão de mel, a Brazillian honey bread, but differ in the sense that those from Kika's, while slightly more dry, are significantly more flavorful with plenty of spices like cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon and even ground coffee beans.

Each tiny cake gets a heavy coat of dark chocolate, and because they're so small, you may surely eat a "whole" cake (or two) with absolutely no guilt. Kika's Treats are sold at various shops throughout NYC, and usually cost $6.99 for a bag of six cakes.
