It's often said that seafood and cheese in the Italian tradition shouldn't be paired, but after eating the Tuna Bella ($8 roll, $10 hero) at Park Slope bakery and sandwich shop Brooklyn Bread, I don't think I agree. The moist Italian canned tuna pairs beautifully with thick cuts of milky mozzarella and a sweet, creamy spread of Bel Paese cheese; it's made even better with arugula, roasted pepper, balsamic and a drizzle of nice, peppery olive oil. That said, just about any filling would be tasty on Brooklyn Bread's super-crusty, chewy-middled sandwich rolls. Don't let the "roll" designation put you off; this is a sizable sandwich.
