The Brunch Dish: Huaraches at Toloache

I've been asked a hundred times where to go for a pre-matinee brunch in the Theatre District; and in Toloache, a lively Mexican restaurant on West 50th Street, I've finally found a place to recommend. For those looking for a not-too-pricey and essentially familiar morning meal, go for the Huarache ($12). The sweet corn cake, with crisped, griddled edges, is served with black beans, juicy nubs of Mexican chorizo, crumbles of cheese and two eggs whose sunny, silky yolks, once punctured, bind it all together. (While you're there, a mezcal margarita wouldn't be a bad idea.)
