Sugar Rush: Matcha Tiramisu at Aburiya Kinnosuke

At Aburiya Kinnosuke, the Matcha Tiramisu ($6) is incorrectly named but nevertheless delicious. Matcha cake, fluffy and intensely flavored, serves as the base for a vibrant tower of matcha cream. For fresh whipped cream and matcha lovers, this is heaven with matcha powder dusted over the top. Each spoonful is literally a blast of matcha, a tad sweet, ridiculously creamy and rich. Drizzles of kuromitsu syrup—a smoky Japanese black sugar syrup—ties it together.
