Sugar Rush: Eataly's Fig Loaf

We know that Eataly turns out some pretty awesome bread, including potato and sweet onion-laced focaccia wedges that can easily serve as lunch. Keep in mind that sweet cravings can also be satisfied in this bread department, with the Rustic Fig Loaf ($5.80). A slice into a crusty, well-browned loaf reveals not just bits of fig but whole mission figs rolled into the dough. It's an impressive sight, the toasted slices perfect for a slather of sweet cream butter or, even better, spoonfuls of fresh ricotta by Salvatore Bklyn, sold in the cheese case just a few yards away. Talk about convenience!
