Olive Oil Gelato may be the most popular flavor at Otto—and for good reason—but that doesn't mean other flavors ($12/pint) don't deserve their turn in the spotlight. Flavors such as the smokey, dark Caramel Gelato and this Huckleberry-Mascarpone Gelato, which teases of warm weather to come. You'll know it's mascarpone upon the first spoonful, lush and buttery. Like all of Meredith Kurtzman's gelatos, the flavors are clear, bold without being overly aggressive. Huckleberry makes appearances with purple-red swirls throughout the gelato, a splash of color across white. Pick a scoop with mainly huckleberry and you'll find it slightly tart with a balanced sweetness. Summer cannot come quickly enough!
