For breakfast and quick snacks, I often turn to Oatcakes from Massachusetts-based Effie's Homemade. They're crumbly with a good dose of salt, and the ingredients are clean basics: wheat flour, rolled oats, unsalted butter, sugar, water, organic palm oil, salt, and baking soda. I like them for the nutty, toasty oat flavor and its ability to pair well with whatever I may have at home (cheese! chutney! Nutella!). It's also quite memorable alone with a hot pot of tea. Effie's also makes Corncakes and Nutcakes, but it's the Oatcakes you'll be coming back for. Find the biscuits at various shops including Zabar's, Murray's Cheese and Lucy's Whey.
