For Your Fro-Yo Crazed Valentine: Pinkberry 'Swirly Grams'

Flowers, chocolates, and desserts are all pretty classic Valentine's Day gifts—but, er, frozen yogurt? This year, yogurt chain Pinkberry is delivering "Swirly Grams," gifts of frozen yogurt (or Pinkberry gift cards) wrapped up all pretty and delivered to your Valentine's door.

Er, delivery frozen yogurt? That's what we said, too. Of all deliverable foods out there, it sounds like one of the less likely ones. But in the giant ice slick that is the Northeast right now, melting is not a problem; in warmer climes, your fro-yo might melt faster, but even our summer Pinkberry delivery worked out pretty well.

When a "Cupid's Swirl" Swirly Gram shows up on your doorstep, it arrives wrapped with a gift tag and bow, and toppings nicely packed separately. We preferred the original flavor, with strawberries, almonds, and chocolate-rice crunchies. (The blood orange flavor, while perfectly edible, had an unfortunate chalky-acidic taste reminiscent of a Vitamin C tablet.) Whatever the flavor, they are pretty cute.

The obvious question: Are these worth the $10 they're charging? Given that all that shows up is a medium Pinkberry yogurt, which retails in NYC for $5.75, it's a little silly. But hey, Valentine's Day is all about silliness. Let's put it this way: I could give you the names of at least a dozen girls (er, people... but girls) who would love to have a Pinkberry valentine show up on Monday. Order online »
