Sugar Rush: Palet Breton at Financier

Palet Bretons originated in Brittany, and though they're fairly hard to come across in New York, Financier puts out a highly satisfying version. Crumbly, with a texture not far from cornbread, the cakey cookie is rich in butter and thankfully not very sweet. They're perfectly round, near an inch in height, and sold by the 5-pack for $7.50 at Financier locations throughout the city. Bring on coffee and tea, and we're all set for afternoon goûter.
