Liebe opened up quietly on Mott Street about a month ago. It's sliver of a spot in Nolita, and though their "Gourmet Indian Fusion" theme made me a bit suspicious, the drink special I tried was worth returning for. The iced Almond-Pistachio Milk ($4.45) is lightly infused with saffron. Almond dominates the flavor, and a blend of the ground nuts settles at the bottom of the cup, so that crunchy little nibbles rise up in your straw with every sip. This fragrant drink is delicate in texture and more refreshing than a rich, thick nut milk. It's a lovely change of pace from the horchata I usually pick up next door at Pinche Taqueria.
