A Sandwich a Day: Walnut Pesto Sandwich at 'wichcraft

They are consistently generous with goat cheese, creamy and mild, in this sandwich ($8.50) from 'wichcraft. The cheese comes smothered on slices of multigrain bread with watercress and celery for a crisp bite. But it gets even better—there are slices of ripe avocado to top, and then a layer of black walnut pesto, an exciting alternative to your everyday basil. This pesto is chunky, almost meaty, and well-seasoned, kissed with Parmesan and salt. Smother it over a slice of bread, and I would be happy eating that alone!
